In the Spring and Fall, all those squid in a bucket, after late nights and some very early mornings, long before first light, I’m immersed in the addiction of catching one more squid, or the anticipation of a school coming into the bright lights which attract these amazing sea creatures. Besides the obvious uses as food and bait, and my squid mixed media drawings, I have been fascinated making fresh squid ink monoprints from my catch, sometimes using the tentacles as a paint brush, to create a more gestural appearance.
